Youth to show off Black History Knowledge

February 27, 2010

More than 100 youth will show off what they know about Black History during the 2nd Annual Black Knowledge Bowl.

The tournament style contest will feature more than 20 teams of area high school and middle school age youth demonstrating their expertise. The Black Knowledge Bowl will be held Friday, February 26 from 9 am to 2 pm at the Milwaukee Public Museum.

The youth will be quizzed on a wide range of topics including Milwaukee Black History, Discovery & Industry, Entertainment, Africa, and Writing & Art. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place teams in both high and middle school age categories. The competition is open to the public.

For more information on the Black Knowledge Bowl, go to the Social Development Commission website at www.cr-sdc.org, click on the “News” tab and then on the “Special Events” page. The 2nd Annual Black Knowledge Bowl is made possible in part through the support of presenting sponsor Cricket Wireless, breakfast sponsor We Energies and luncheon sponsor Associated Bank.
