What is cancer? Cancer is not something physical. You cannot see or touch cancer.
Certain tumors are commonly called “the cancer”, but in reality they are not cancer.
They are, however, symptoms or indications of cancer.
To say malignant tumors are “the cancer” is like saying smoke rising from a fire is the fire.
Cancer is actually a malfunctioning process that gives rise to tumor symptoms.
Just like fire produces smoke, the process of cancer produces tumor symptoms.
The process of cancer is the cause, and tumor symptoms are the effect. To respond to cancer effectively, our main focus needs to be on the cause.
We must eliminate the underlying process producing tumor symptoms.
How do we deal with the cause so as to prevent the process of cancer from getting a free ride?
Essentially, it’s about changing the environment within our body to greatly strengthen its own healing power. Consider the following as starting points:
I. Change the environment in your body to make it a lot less acidic and more alkaline. (Dr. Don Colbert, M.D. writes the following in his book The Seven Pillars of Health: “In an alkaline environment your tissues get rid of impurities more efficiently.
When cancer patients come into my office to begin nutritional treatment, their bodies are almost always very acidic and toxic.
My first task is to get their tissues to alkalize with alkaline water and alkaline foods”).
Remember to drink enough water during the day. The healthiest water is slightly alkaline and is ionized.
I. Eat less cooked foods and a lot more live plant-based foods, with emphasis on vegetables.
They are high in fiber, they have their own enzymes to facilitate digestion, and create a healthy acid/alkaline pH balance.
III. Make an effort to greatly strengthen your immune system; it’s our primary defense against cancer.
Get adequate rest, laugh a lot and live with less stress.
IV. Remember to consume some foods each day to reduce inflammation, because inflammation adversely affects the immune system as well as the acid/ alkaline balance in the body.
Turmeric spice, fresh aloe vera, and fermented soy are especially good.
V. Do things to introduce more oxygen into your body at the cellular level. In 1931 the German scientist Dr. Otto Warburg (1883-1970) was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for discovering cancer cells flourish in low-oxygen environments.
Therefore, to bring in more oxygen, it is important to remember to breathe deeply and do it often. Juice deep green leafy vegetables (collards, kale, Swiss chard greens), as they are rich in chlorophyll which enhances oxygen circulation.
Also, very helpful is the Budwig diet (devised by Dr. Joanna Budwig) consisting of organic unrefined flax seed oil and low fat cottage cheese.
It has been proven to increase oxygen circulation. Also, high pH ionized water helps more oxygen go to work at the cellular level.
VI. Cleanse your body. Make a serious effort to detoxify, because it greatly enhances your body’s ability to heal itself.
Fresh lemon juice in a cup of warm water with 6 to 8 shakes of cayenne pepper is an excellent start for the day.
Fresh brewed ESSIAC tea is also especially helpful. (Tenzing Momo, Inc. in Seattle sells this tea in bulk).
VII. Reduce Stress. Forgive, meditate/pray, live in the present, do moderate physical exercise daily.
VIII. Eat Primitively… eat a high percentage of plant-based raw and whole foods.
Among other things, this puts more fiber into the body and improves bowel regularity.
Otherwise, bowel sluggishness contributes to increased acidic body chemistry.
In closing, it’s time we stop thinking of cancer as some sort of localized disease like a skinned knee, and remember if we detect and destroy the tumor symptom early enough, the main problem is solved.
It is not enough to merely manage tumor symptoms.
With cancer we are dealing with a chronic metabolic illness crying out for a holistic response, to include fundamental changes in our diet and lifestyle.
We must take greater personal responsibility for our health and wellness as we commit to more physical exercise and to consuming a much higher percentage of unrefined, unprocessed, whole, natural, and plant-based foods.
