We all spend a lot on energy every month to power our homes. But over 680 homeowners in the City of Milwaukee have reduced their energy bills and improved the comfort and durability of their homes with the Milwaukee Energy Efficiency program, or Me2.
Me2 provides thousands of dollars in rebates and no home equity financing for home improvements like new insulation, air sealing, and new heating and cooling equipment.
Me2 is sponsored by the City of Milwaukee and funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Me2 and Wisconsin’s Focus on Energy program have teamed up to offer thousands of dollars in incentives to all eligible homeowners in the City of Milwaukee.
Low to moderate income homeowners can be eligible for bonus incentives totaling up to $7,850, which is often enough to pay for all of the energy saving home improvements.
Me2 not only makes home energy saving upgrades affordable, it also takes the guess work out of home improvement. Energy Advocates provide free support and guide you through the home improvement process. Me2 energy consultants do a thorough evaluation of your home to identify energy saving opportunities and develop a plan for improvements customized to your needs. Then, a Me2 Contractor completes the work you want, and the work is inspected to ensure it was done right.
“Man, what can I tell you? The workers were great. They took pride in their work. They did a fantastic job and completed on scheduled,” said homeowner James Green. “From day one I felt a tremendous difference in the comfort level of the home.
The walls really retain heat. I do not have cold spots in the home anymore. I am happiest because it is within my budget.”
And Me2 not only keeps you warm in the winter, it can also help keep your home cool in the summer, too.
“I encourage residents to participate in the Me2 program,” said Common Council President Willie Hines. “It is a great program that works to improve homes in addition to providing jobs to the local community.”
When you use the Me2 program, you’re not only improving your home and saving money, but you’re helping put Milwaukee back to work. All Participating Me2 contractors use workers who live in the City of Milwaukee.
To maximize your rebates, you must signup for Me2 by June 15th and complete your home improvements by August 30th.
