Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 is giving shoppers another incentive to shop downtown. In June, the organization launched Shop 2nd Saturdays, a promotion offering bargain hunters great deals at many of downtown’s locally-owned boutiques, in conjunction with the start of the summer trolley season.
Now Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 is further improving connectivity to its retail gems by funding a free Holly Trolley service on Saturday, Dec. 8 for the December installment of Shop 2nd Saturdays. The Holly Trolley will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a five stop route, linking destinations in downtown’s East Town and Westown neighborhoods. Shoppers are also reminded that two-hour, on-street parking is free downtown on Saturdays, so savvy shoppers need only park once.
Stops along the Dec. 8th Holly Trolley route include 4th St. and Wisconsin Ave., Old World Third St. and Highland Ave., Wisconsin Ave. between Jefferson and Jackson streets, Mason St. and Jefferson St., and Clybourn St. and Water St. Two trolleys will service the loop to offer 10-minute headways at each stop. In addition, Public Service Ambassadors will be on board to guide shoppers with directions and suggestions on places shop, dine and visit.
The free Holly Trolley service will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8th only. Destinations along the route include many Shop 2nd Saturdays participants. Retailers participating in the Dec. 8th installment include Boutique B’lou, Fred Boutique, George Watts & Son, Kloiber Jewelers, Laacke & Joys, Luci Boutique, Miss Ruby Boutique, Planet Bead, Rohr Jewelers, The Spice House, TJ Maxx, Urban Milwaukee and Usinger’s Famous Sausage.
