On March 14, NNPA Publishers and staff gathered in Washington, D.C. at the Howard University Moorland Spingarn Research Center (MSRC) to celebrate Black Press Day.
The Publisher toured the MSRC as the Publishers celebrated 197 years of the Black Press.
The first Black Newspaper published was in 1827 and was named Freedom’s Journal.

Dr. Mary Ellen Strong, Publisher Milwaukee Defender top far right was enshrined into the Howard University Moorland Spingarn Research Center in March of 2018.
