On Saturday, March 21 the National Association of Black Journalists, Milwaukee Chapter/ Wisconsin Black Media Association, will hold a Community Forum “ How to get Your Story Told: On Air, Online and Above the Fold.” This two-hour event is part of the chapter’s community engagement programming.
It will be held at Parklawn Assembly of God, 3725 N. Sherman Ave. in the café from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The day’s event will start with a panel discussion from some of the city’s top media professionals in television, radio, print and digital. They will discuss when, how, and who to approach at their various organizations with community events and ideas.
The second part of the day will involve a Media “Speed Pitch Date.” Community members will have one minute to pitch the who, what, and where of their organization’s event or ideas to media professionals.
Each professional will have 3-4 minutes to help the community member better prepare their proposal.
The event is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, and you must register to attend and participate in the Media Speed Pitch Date.
