Saturday, October 22nd, WI 4th Senate District, Sen. Lena Taylor and City of Milwaukee Commissioner, Stephanie Findley, kicked off the “Souls to the Polls” Early Voting Weekend with Pastor Dr. Richard Sylvester and 1st Lady Laticia Sylvester at Sharon Seventh Adventist Church on Teutonia and Meinecke Avenue in Milwaukee.
“We can never take any election lightly.” stated Election Commissioner Findley, “That is why we are working to ensure the faith community is fully engaged and understand the election process.”
“We are want the churches in Milwaukee to be equipped with the necessary information that will allow their members to cast an educated vote.” shared Sen. Lena Taylor.
“Souls to the Polls” is a national effort designed to mobilize African-American communities to the polls to cast their vote early.
These efforts are led by faith organizations serving the community to coordinate rides to the polls and increase voter participation in the African-American community.
