Seniors Are Special At The Zoo!

SENIOR CELEBRATION
AT THE MILWAUKEE COUNTY ZOO
SPONSORED BY WHEATON FRANCISCAN SENIOR HEALTH

milwaukee-county-zoo-logoMILWAUKEE, WI – The Milwaukee County Zoo invites all “young-at-heart” seniors age 55+ to join us on Friday, September 2 for Senior Celebration, sponsored by Wheaton Franciscan Senior Health.  Seniors receive free admission from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (proof of age required).  Senior Celebration includes a variety of sights and activities for seniors to experience, including:

  • Wheaton Franciscan Senior Health

This group is proud to present its services to seniors.  Visit Wheaton Franciscan’s booth to meet Wheaton Franciscan personnel and learn more about senior services.  Don’t forget to register for door prizes!

Box Lunches:  Purchase tickets for $6.75 – supplies limited.  Roast turkey and provolone cheese on a wheat bun, pasta salad cup, chips and soda.

  • FUN WALK

Join us at 9:30 a.m. for a 1-mile walk through the Zoo hosted by Wisconsin Senior Olympics.

  • HEALTH & WELLNESS EXHIBITORS

Meet interesting exhibitors—chosen with the needs of seniors in mind— plus take part in important health screenings.  Complimentary cookies for the first 2,000 visitors courtesy of Aldi.

  • SENIOR STRETCHING

At 9:45 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., the SilverSneakers will lead a 5–10 minute stretch session and brief workout designed specifically to energize seniors as they make their way around the Zoo.

  • GARDENS GALORE

Visit the Zoo gardens and learn helpful gardening tips from on-site  Master Gardeners.

9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • BIRDS OF PREY SHOW

Enjoy a FREE show featuring free flights by our resident flock.

11 a.m., 12:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m.

  • KOHL’S WILD THEATER

Professional performers present 15-minute, conservation-themed shows using drama, songs, games and puppetry

10:15 a.m., Noon, 1:45 p.m., 3:30 p.m.

  • BINGO

                        Join in the fun and take part in this popular game for all ages!

9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Noon to 1 p.m.

  • BUGS! LARGER THAN LIFE
