State Senator Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) was honored recently by the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA) with a “WCA Outstanding Legislator Award” for her work on behalf of county government during the 2015- 2016 Legislative Session.
“Senator Taylor has been a real supporter of county issues this past legislative session,” said WCA Executive Director Mark D. O’Connell. “In addition to her work on many important committees, she shows incredible leadership.”
The “WCA Outstanding Legislator Award” is handed out biennially to a select group of legislators who have represented county interests in both the legislature and in their districts.
These legislators have demonstrated leadership for counties on key issues, legislation and the state budget.
O’Connell continued, “Senator Taylor understands the importance of local government and we are proud to present her with this ‘WCA Outstanding Legislator Award.’ We look forward to working with her in the years ahead.”
WCA represents the interests of county government both on the state and federal levels and is located in Madison, Wisconsin. For more information, visit www.wicounties.org.
