Chief Edward A. Flynn held Roll Call outside North Division High School Thursday morning, as part of Operation School’s Out.
A show of strength to the community that they are here for them.
Chief Flynn gathered members of the bicycle unit and foot patrol officers together to remind them of the critical roll they have in connecting with people in neighborhoods and combating crime.
“Because they are on bicycles, they are accessible to the community and that develops a level of trust that results in people telling them things,” Chief Flynn said.
“Folks will tell coppers they trust things they won’t tell coppers they don’t know.”
The Chief and officers also greeted and congratulated the graduates of the Class of 2014 as they left their ceremony.
