Second set of Visioning Workshops scheduled for December

November 16, 2013

A second set of interactive “Visioning Workshops” will take place around the Region next month. Join us!

The first round of Visioning Workshops is complete and attendees provided their ideas for the future of our Region’s land use and transportation.

Please mark your calendars for a second set of workshops in December, and help shape the Region’s vision!

At the December workshops, staff will show attendees results of the first workshops and other visioning activities.

They will also review a set of draft Guiding Statements (currently under development).

The Guiding Statements, developed based on input from the first workshops and other visioning activities, will attempt to convey the desired future direction of growth and change in the Region with respect to land development and transportation.

At the December workshops, we will be asking attendees to discuss the Guiding Statements and refine them so they reflect the type of community and Region within which they would desire to live.

The December workshops will also provide an opportunity to give initial input into the design of “sketch” future year 2050 land use and transportation scenarios.

These scenarios will be broad and conceptual, and will represent the range of possible futures for land use and transportation which could achieve the Region’s identified vision, as identified in the Guiding Statements.

Each workshop will last about 90 minutes, with participants asked to stay for the duration of the workshop.

These workshops are open to the general public, but please register in advance (link below) if you plan to attend.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided to fuel your visioning!
