Residents of Milwaukee’s Westside will have the opportunity to select a new representative to the Social Development Commission (SDC) Board.
A Special Election for SDC District Three will be held Friday, November 15 between 8am and 6pm.
The polling location will be in Veterans Center located at 3430 N. Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee.
SDC’s District 3 runs from Dr. ML King Drive on the east to N. 60th Street on the west and from Pierce Street on the south to Locust on the north.
To vote, a person must be at least 18 years old and a resident of SDC District Three for at least ten days.
Residents will be asked to write in the name of a District 3 resident on the ballot.
The winner of the election will serve the remainder of the three-year term representing the residents of the district on the 18- person SDC Board of Commissioners.
The previous Commissioner for SDC District Three who was elected this past April recently resigned to run for an open State Assembly seat.
The SDC Board helps create and implement policy for the anti-poverty agency which serves Milwaukee County.
