The Social Development Commission (SDC) is seeking candidates to run for the District 3 seat on the agency’s Board.
The District 3 opening occurred when elected Board member for that district, Elizabeth Coppola, resigned to run for an open Wisconsin Assembly seat. The agency is planning to conduct a Special Board Election for its District 3 in November 15.
SDC’s District 3 is entirely within the City of Milwaukee, bounded on the east by N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, on the west by N. 60th Street, on the north by W. Locust Street and on the south by W. Pierce Street.
The map can be viewed by visiting the SDC website located at www.cr-sdc.org/DefaultFilePile/PDF/District-Maps/District3.pdf.
District 3 residents interested in running can pick up candidate packets at SDC offices at 4041 N. Richards Street from now until Monday, October 28 on weekdays between 8:30 am and 5 pm.
The packets need to be returned to SDC before 5 pm on October with at least 200 notarized signatures by district residents in order to be placed on the November 15 election ballot.
All updates on the Special Election for SDC District 3 will be posted on the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org.
