The Social Development Commission (SDC) Board has voted to offer the former President and CEO of Aurora Sinai Medical Center the position of Interim CEO.
The Board in a special Tuesday night meeting named George P. Hinton as the person to whom they will offer the job as interim leader of SDC. Hinton is the founder of the Hinton Group, a healthcare and business consulting firm that works with for-profit and non-profit organizations. He served as President of the Sinai Medical Center from 2008 to 2012. Mr. Hinton also has professional experience with INROADS, Inc. and Children’s Health System of Wisconsin.
The decision to offer Hinton the post was made after a number of applicants were considered for the leadership position for SDC.
He serves on a wide variety of local Boards including the Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board, the Medical Society of Milwaukee County, the MATC Foundation, the Institute for Leadership Diversity, and the American College of Health Care Executives. He also is an Adjunct Faculty member for Cardinal Stritch University.
Mr. Hinton, if he accepts, will serve at the helm of SDC while the search for a permanent CEO continues to be conducted.
He replaces Acting CEO Jan Stenlund in leading the anti-poverty agency that serves Milwaukee County. She will resume her previous position as Director of Program Services for the agency.
