Universal Academy held its official ribbon cutting for one of its two new charter schools that will open this school year. The elementary school is located at 3872 N. 8th St. Music legend Kenneth Gamble and his wife Faatimah (center) were joined by members of Universal’s support team, and local leaders and elected officials of Milwaukee for the event held on Wednesday, July 31. The program included drummers and student African dancers, highlighting some of the after school programs being offered, such as African Dance and Drumming. Gamble and his wife were surprised with a original art piece that will hang in the school of the two of them.
