Potawatomi Bingo Casino has named Rodney Ferguson as Chief Financial Officer. He joined the casino’s executive leadership team April 15.
As CFO, Ferguson will oversee all financial activities at the Casino, including operations in the casino’s accounting, compliance, information technologies, warehouse and purchasing departments. He will also monitor the casino’s operating results, profitability and performance.
“Rodney joins our team during a critical juncture in the casino’s history as it grows into a regional and national destination with the construction of our hotel,” said Potawatomi Bingo Casino general manager Mike Goodrich. “We look forward to utilizing his diversified skill set and immense experience to support the long-term business plans of the Casino.”
Ferguson, a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor of science in accounting from Virginia State University, has more than 30 years experience in a variety of leadership positions both in and out of the gaming industry.
Most recently, Ferguson served as CEO of Spirit Mountain Casino in Grand Ronde, Ore. There, he was able to grow the resort in the midst of the economic recession by overseeing the addition of guest amenities and the renovation of hotel rooms and three restaurants. Prior to that, he served as General Manager at the Isleta Casino & Resort in Albuquerque, N.M.
While he’s not keeping tabs on the company ledger, Ferguson prides himself an outdoorsman as he takes part in RV Camping and fishing. A sports enthusiast, he also enjoys basketball, football, golf and boxing.
