The prospect of meaningful immigration reform and how it could affect Milwaukee was one of several key issues discussed this week during an immigration summit hosted by Alderman Joe Davis, Sr. and Alderman José G. Pérez (pictured above). The summit featured a panel of key experts and commentators that included; Attorney Joseph Rivas from Hochstatter, McCarthy, Rivas and Runde , S.C., Beatriz Gonzalez of Centro Hispano Milwaukee (Council for the Spanish Speaking), Stan Willis, Chicago attorney, Charles Vang, Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, Jennifer Martinez of Voces de la Frontera, Theo Iyasele , Nigeria Community of Milwaukee, Fessehaye Mebrahtu, Pan African Community Association, James Santelle, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin and Al Durtka, International Institute of Wisconsin .
