Milwaukee High School of The Arts students exhibit Bronzville photo and mural collages

March 16, 2013

Senior AP Studio Art students of the Milwaukee High School of The Arts stand next their exhibition. The piece contains digital photo collages and murals that chronicle a visual history of Milwaukee’s Historic Bronzeville and the rich legacy of greatness it produced. Milwaukee photographer Paul Calhoun, and artists Brad Anthony Bernard and James Tomasello guided students through research and creative technical processes of digital photography, photo-editing, and mural painting. Students also conducted interviews with community elders who were residents of Bronzeville. This project was funded by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, Mary L. Nohl Fund and Know Thyself.
