Mandela Barnes wins Democratic bid for the 11th State Assembly District

August 18, 2012

Mandela Barnes (center) who won his Democratic bid for the 11th State Assembly District is joined at his victory party with his parents, Jesse and LaJuan Barnes. He surprised many with his victory over Jason Fields, an 8-year incumbent. (Below) Milwaukee County Supervisor Nikiya Harris is joined by Terrell and Felisia Martin following her successful bid for the 6th State Senate. Harris’ win will leave an open seat on the county board. No Republicans are running in these races, so the primary winners – barring successful write-in campaigns in November – will be seated when the Legislature returns in January. (Photos by Robert A.
