Summerfest just finished its 45th Year Anniversary run and now the next big gig is set for August 4 & 5, 2012 with African World Festival.
Preparations are well underway for African World Festival, with an impressive lineup expected. Some of the highlights will feature such acts as jazz artists Boney James, Alex Bugnon, Doc Powell and Rick Braun organizers have announced.
Blues and R & B performers on the bill for the expanded festival on Aug. 4 and 5 at Maier Festival Park include Denise LaSalle, Latimore, Willie Clayton, Ms. Jodi, James Fortune and FIYA.
African World Festival is a celebration of African American Heritage and Culture held on Milwaukee’s beautiful lakefront at Maier Festival Park. Since its inception in 1982, the festival has sought to promote and share the culture and heritage of all people of African descent with the global community.
Known as “The Meeting Place”, the festival is entertaining as well as educational, and full of events for the entire family.
