The Chief Executive Officer for the Social Development Commission (SDC) has been selected for a statewide award.
Deborah Blanks , SDC CEO, was presented last week with the 2012 WISCAP President’s Award. That award was presented by the Wisconsin Community Action Partnership (WISCAP), a statewide organization of Community Action Agencies (CAPs). SDC is the Community Action Agency for Milwaukee County.
In the award presentation, Ms. Blanks was singled out by Mike Bonertz, President of the WISCAP Board. He pointed to her leadership in anti-poverty efforts in greater Milwaukee , her service as past-President of WISCAP, her serving on Regional and National levels for Community Action, and her role in being a founder of the National CAP Emerging Leaders Program.
Bonertz said about presenting the award to Ms. Blanks “I was very pleased to do so. I have great respect for her.” He added that she has demonstrated through her years of working as part of the WISCAP organization the principles of Community Action Agencies and shown great poise, professionalism and dedication.
Ms. Blanks has served as leader of SDC since 1997 where she has brought new innovative programs to meet the evolving needs of the low-income community as well as new methods of increasing agency efficiency and effectiveness.
