Opportunity to learn about Head Start

April 23, 2012

Parents of preschool age children will get the opportunity to learn about the Head Start Program. A special Super Saturday Enrollment session is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 to help parents find out about the no-cost preschool program in Milwaukee County.

The Super Saturday will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at more than 20 Head Start sites operated by the Social Development Commission (SDC) and its delegate and partnering agencies all across the county. The sites will be open to let residents see firsthand the program that prepares three to five year olds for kindergarten as well as to start the registration process for the coming school year.

SDC Head Start gets children ready for school through a blend of academic and social preparation, health and dental screenings, nutritious meals, and extensive parental involvement.

To find the location of the nearest Head Start site, interested parents can visit the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org and click on the link for “SDC Head Start Open Enrollment Blitz”. Or they can call 414-906-2777.
