Cuisine prepared by Milwaukee Area Technical College culinary arts, and baking and pastry arts students highlights the annual “Five Star Food & Wine Evening,” set for Thursday, April 19, from 5-8 p.m. on the Sixth Floor of the Main Building at MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee Campus, 1015 N. 6th St.
The event features a cuisine smokehouse, seafood, cold buffet, Pan-Asian delicacies, and cuisine from Cuba and New Orleans.
There also will be a sweet and specialty pastries station.
Food offerings will be paired with a variety of wines. Cakes designed to look like bodices of wedding dresses and 100-percent-edible chocolate showpieces (sculptures) will be on display and auctioned off at the end of the evening.
In addition, there will be a silent auction of baskets and donated items as well as a raffle.
Buy tickets in advance for $45 or at the door for $55. Ticket prices include four beverage tickets. Proceeds from the event will be used for scholarship and continuing education opportunities for MATC students and faculty in culinary arts, culinary management, baking and pastry arts, hotel/hospitality, and meeting and event management programs.
