Sign up is underway for the 4th Annual Black Knowledge Bowl. The annual academic challenge is being coordinated by the Social Development Commission (SDC). The daylong event for high school age youth will be held Friday, March 30 at Manpower Headquarters at 100 N. Manpower Place from 8 am to 2:30 pm.
The Black Knowledge Bowl is lining up high school and youth group teams for the tournament style event that will test young people on their knowledge of African American History. The competition will feature questions on areas that include Milwaukee Black History, Education & Government, Discovery & Industry, Civil Rights & Law, Africa , and the Performing Arts & Music. In addition to the Black History tournament, the day will also include a variety of cultural enrichment activities.
Registration of teams is going on now through the SDC website at www.cr-sdc.org. Just click on the link to the Black Knowledge Bowl to access the registration information and materials. There will be a limited number of teams signed up for the tournament and deadline to register is March 15, 2012.
