Seaway Bank and Trust Company announces two executive level promotions. Denise T. Weaver has been promoted to the position of Senior Vice President/Operations Officer. In her new position, she will be responsible for the management and direction of daily operations activities at all branch locations and the supervision of more than 140 employees serving consumers and small businesses. Previously, she served as the Vice President/ BSA/Compliance Officer, since 2007.
Weaver began her career at Seaway Bank in January 1988 as a Universal Teller. During her 24-year tenure, she has held management posts in numerous departments, including Satellite Operations (a division that provides 24/7 cashiering services), Teller Operations, Bookkeeping, Compliance and Training. She also serves on the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management committee. Weaver earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern University A&M, Baton Rouge, LA.
Seaway Bank also announces the promotion of Arlene Williams to senior executive vice president/lending officer. Williams began her career at Seaway Bank in 1989 as a Commercial Loan Officer. She held several leadership positions within the lending department prior to her promotion as senior vice president and senior lender in 1998. In that capacity, she was responsible for business development, negotiating, underwriting and managing the bank’s diverse loan portfolio. A seasoned financial and managerial professional, she was promoted to executive vice president in 2008 to provide strategic support in the areas of leadership, development and implementation of the bank’s lending policies and procedures.
As senior executive vice president/chief lending officer, Williams is responsible for building, developing and managing a team of 30+ commercial and retail lenders and the bank’s business development and Special Assets Divisions. She will continue to oversee the strategic direction of the bank’s loan portfolio, as well as stay abreast of legislation and other political and policy-making events that directly affect the bank. She maintains strong relationships with community and civic groups and serves as the treasurer for the Chatham Business Association and a board member of the National Bankers Association. Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at the University of Illinois.
