“Glory To GOD In The Highest, And On Earth Peace, Goodwill Toward Men” (Luke 2:14)
We are in a climate of political discord, not seen in this country since the Civil War. We have the 1 percenter (super rich) clinging to their vast wealth, as if it is an entitlement, at the expense (suffering) of the 99 percenters (us). This is in opposition to Gods commandments to love one another.
Lets discuss goodwill at this time of year: Goodwill is defined as:
- An attitude of kindness or friendliness; Benevolence.
- Cheerful acquiescence or willingness.
- A good relationship, as of a business enterprise with its customers or a nation with other nations
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26)
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
And again I say unto you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:23-24)
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: (Matthew 6:19)
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal: (Matthew 6:20)
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Luke:34)
Oswald J Smith said I have learned that money is not the measure of a man but it is often the means of finding out how small he is.
It is better to have your bank in heaven than o have your heaven in a bank.
It is known that Lincoln had no great admiration for mere financial success.
Financial success he once said “is purely metallic”
The man who gains it has four metallic attributes: gold in his palm, sliver on his tongue, brass in his face and iron in his heart.
Money is an instrument that can buy you everything but happiness and pay your face to every place but heaven.
Not only will the 1 percenter rob God, but he will take an income tax deduction on it.
May the lord bless the 99 percenter.
Have a Blessed New Year,
