More than 200 hundred job seekers got the chance to talk to potential employers at a Job Fair held by the Social Development Commission (SDC) W-2 program.
The Job Fair was held at SDC Richards Street office. Employers represented at the event included Potawatomi Bingo and Casino, St. Camillius & St. Camillo, Clean Power, Outpost Foods, UWM/ Public Allies, We Energies, Argus Technical, Milwaukee Fire and Police, CareMinders, Med Group Home Care, and Job Corps.
Prior to meeting with employer representatives, those attending the Job Fair attended mini-workshops that provided tips on how best to increase their chances of being hired. Information was provided on preparing resumes, how to research companies present at job fairs ahead of time, how to best present oneself to a potential employer, and how to follow up on contacts made at events like the Job Fair.
The Job Fair was the latest in a series of events organized by the W-2 program at SDC.
