The Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee is preparing to launch www.MKE123.org, a new social network specifically designed for the Greater Milwaukee nonprofit sector. MKE123 provides an unprecedented open forum for all three key constituencies within the nonprofit community: the organizations themselves; their donors, supporters, and friends; and their clients and service recipients.
“MKE123 is a dynamic tool for nonprofits and area residents,” said Leigh Kunde, Nonprofit Center Executive Director. “It will quickly become a portal with such scope that groups can use it to schedule board meetings while moms can use it to find lunch programs for the kids.”
Nonprofit staff, volunteers and the community are invited to celebrate the launch with a traditional Milwaukee fish fry at Serb Hall on Friday, September 16. The event is the Nonprofit Center’s 45th Annual Meeting and will feature a live MKE123 demonstration, networking and socializing.
Cost is $12 per person for Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee member organizations and CDBG funded agencies, $15 for nonmembers. RSVP before September 9 at www.mke123.org/launch, 414-344-3933, or info@nonprofitcentermilwaukee.org.
A year in the making, MKE123 began as an idea generated by the Helen Bader Foundation, which has funded the site’s development.
