Organizations contribute to arts, education and community building

The 2011 recipients of the Fellowship Open Golf Outing awards were announced at a reception at the offices of Quarles & Brady, LLP on Thursday, June 16th. In attendance with the awardees were the Honorary Chairs of this year’s Open. Now in its eleventh year, the Fellowship Open has highlighted and contributed to organizations in the Milwaukee area that support youth and have a real impact on their lives. The 2011 award recipients are: African World Festival, Milwaukee Summer Reading Program, MPS/UWM Rob Jeter’s Basketball Camps, NAACP – ACTSO Program, PGA Minority Collegiate Scholarship, Usher’s New Look Foundation, V.E. Carter Development Group and the Willie Davis Scholarship Fund.
This year’s Fellowship Open will be held on August 19, 2011 at the Silver Spring Country Club. Honorees are NFL Hall of Famer, businessman and national leader Willie Davis and civic and community leader and former European Professional Basketball League player Skip Robinson.
