A group of preschoolers marked the completion of the latest stage in their education. Five year old members of the Social Development Commission Head Start- Johnson Square site were recognized at a Completion Ceremony.
The nine youngsters were singled out at the celebration program for completing the Head Start program. They will be going on to continue their education at kindergarten next fall. Waunda Eison, Chairperson of the Parent Committee for the site, congratulated the children’s families and urged them to continue encouraging the youngsters to keep learning through the coming summer months.
The SDC Johnson Square site is one of more than 20 Head Start locations the agency and its delegates operate throughout Milwaukee County. The program gets children ready for kindergarten with a blend of academic and social preparation, dental and health screenings, and parental involvement.
