The three-time GRAMMY Award winner Donnie McClurkin is gearing up for his biggest event to date and it’s not for a concert performance. In fact it’s not about the platinum-selling artist at all; but rather a desire to share needed information that will empower people. McClurkin will bring his Perfecting Music Conference to Milwaukee, WI area May 19 – 21; workshops and health fair will be held at Christian Faith Fellowship Church. Day One May 19 open with a free multicultural Job/Career Fair at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center located at 509 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53203 from 11:00am -3:00pm. The day will include career counseling, resume building, tips on successful interviewing, freetraining classes, with hiring opportunities for permanent and, temporary jobs. On May 20 & 21 McClurkin will host a two-day conference for those interested in pursuing a career in the music industry or simply learning the business, as well as sessions in ministry that is equally engaged in the edification and training of the local church. A low registration fee of $40 is required for these workshops. The day-time workshops and panels will be conducted by some of the top names in the gospel music industry. Currently on board is Verity recording artist, Deitrick & Damita Haddon, Judith McAllister, Bishop Darrell Hines along with other local Pastors, Leaders and Ministers of Music who will be announced later. The goal of PMC is to expand the role of ministry in the music industry and to serve as a platform for the advancement of artists, musicians, and ministry leaders. Industry veterans will head up sessions geared towards Evangelism, Music/Arts Dept., Church Administration, Praise and Worship and Liturgical Dance; while the business sessions will cover Radio Seminar, Marketing Branding, Record Deals, Recording 101and Developing a Label. “It’s time to realize that our diversities should not separate us. “I’m extremely excited about bringing this three-day event to the Milwaukee area. On Saturday, May 21 Boston Scientific/Close The Gap, will partner with PMC to present a free Multicultural Health & Wellness Fair at Christian Faith Fellowship Church . Awareness booths and free health screening opportunities are being held 11:00am -3:00pm. Information on nutrition, private healthcare and insurance, organ donor programs, bone marrow donations, substance abuse, dental/mental health, hypertension, diabetes, women and men’s health, HIV-Aids Testing and vision will be provided. Also available screening for blood glucose and blood pressure, acupuncture, selfdefense training, HIV Testing, BMI, traditional healing, stress management and aerobic exercise, healthy food, games and prizes will also offered.
