Milwaukee Area Technical College will hold its spring commencement Friday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave. More than 1,400 students will graduate from associate degree, technical diploma, apprentice and adult high school programs.
Dr. Robert M. Davis, president and CEO of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee, will serve as the keynote speaker. MATC President Dr. Michael L. Burke will officially confer the degrees and Melanie C. Holmes, vice president of ManpowerGroup and chairperson of the MATC District Board, will address the assembly. Sonia Rivera, who will graduate from the Teacher Education Track, will deliver the student speech. Rivera also will receive the Outstanding Associate Degree Graduate Award. Mark Weinfurter, who is graduating from the Welding Program, will receive the Outstanding Technical Diploma Graduate Award; and Lae Loe will receive the Outstanding Adult High School Student Award.
