Middle school students discover Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math at Time Warner Cable

April 16, 2011

Middle school students are taking part in several hands-on experiments that unlock the mysteries behind digital content; the world of WiFi and Wireless; staying safe and secure in transferring information over the Internet and more. “Here at Time Warner Cable, we use science and mathematics every day to deliver high-quality video, voice and high-speed data services to our customers,” said Tom Adams, Regional Vice President of Operations for Time Warner Cable’s Wisconsin Division. “This hands-on, discovery-based curriculum for middle school students gets them out of the classroom and into our operations where our employees use STEM skills every day to do their jobs.” “These activities bring Connect A Million Minds – the company’s signature philanthropic effort to stimulate STEM-learning among young people – to life,” Adams said. “Our employees serve as role models and mentors and we believe that connecting the technology that is vital to our business with STEM learning can be the spark that encourages students to pursue STEM-related education and careers.” (Photos by Robert A.
