The Forest County Potawatomi Foundation has stepped up to support a pair of programs that benefit Milwaukee County residents. The Foundation has announced a $20,000 grant to support the Milwaukee Asset Building Coalition’s (MABC) free tax preparation effort and the Ways to Work Program.
The MABC tax program is in its tenth year of preparing state and federal taxes for income eligible residents at no charge. Last tax season, the program helped more than 13,000 households recover more than $18-million in tax credits and refunds. The Ways to Work Program helps low-income working families with low-interest loans to purchase transportation that will be used to and from work. Both efforts are coordinated by the Social Development Commission (SDC).
