Hundreds take part in job fair

February 19, 2011

Milwaukee residents fill out job applications at SDC W-2 Mini Job Fair.

More than 200 Milwaukee job seekers participated in a Mini-Job Fair at the Social Development Commission (SDC), looking for work. The W-2 Program of SDC held the job event that was staffed by several area businesses seeking new employees.

Among employers taking job applications were Masterson Personnel, New Horizon, General Business Services, and Wells Fargo. Representatives from SDC’s Transitional Jobs Program also provided information to interested people. Several other agency programs like Youth and Family Development and Head Start were also on hand at the job fair.

The Mini Job Fair is the latest in a series of opportunities provided by the W-2 Program at SDC to connect residents with businesses who are offering job openings. A large job fair is being planned for early March by the program.

For more information on the services offered by the SDC W-2 Program, visit the agency website at www.cr-sdc.org, click on the “Programs” page and then on the link for W-2. Or call the W-2 Helpline at 414-326-2900.
