The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Justice Rally and March took place on Monday, Jan. 17th at St. Francis of Assisi Church. The event began with an indoor rally at the church featuring performing artists Dorothy Jackson, Michaela Usher, Andre Lee Ellis and the Repairers of the Breach Homeless Choir. The rally honored the Milwaukee Commandos who marched over 200 days with Fr. James Groppi for an Open Housing Ordinance in Milwaukee in the 60’s. Following the rally marchers braved the blistery winter weather and walked to the Dr. King statue on MLK Drive. Where an open mic was held on reflections of the message of Dr. King.
