Emeri Sparkling Wines arrive from Australia just in time for holidays

December 24, 2010

A new family of sparkling wines is making its debut just in time for the holidays. Emeri De Bortoli wines from Australia will bring good holiday cheer to the United States with four modern, fresh entries: Sparkling Pinot Grigio, Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato and Pink Moscato.

“Emeri comprises a range from sweet to dry, unlike many other competitor brands,” said Craig Orchard, de Bortoli’s vice president, USA sales. “There is a growing demand in the U.S. for sweeter style sparkling wines. Combined with an international trendtoward lighter, lower alcohol content, Emeri has quickly become a compelling new line,” Orchard continued.

Emeri sparkling Wines are named for Emeri De bortoli, wife of the late founder Deen De Bortoli. Her philosophy is that almost any occasion calls for a celebration and what better way to celebrate than by toasting with a beautiful sparkling wine?

Currently, distribution is strongest in the Central and Northeast sections of the U.S. with recent expansion into the southern states and the West Coast. At just $12.99 per 750ml bottle, holiday revelers will be able to enjoy the full range of Emeri sparkling wines. In Wisconsin, Roundy’s has an exclusive deal with carrying the wines, so check out Pick N Save stores.

Here is a break down of the variety of the Emeri sparkling wines:

Emeri Sparkling Pinot Grigio– From the Riverina Region in the south-eastern Australia, this delightful wine exudes subtle aromas of rose and lychee with a touch of honey. It is the color of the straw and the soft, round palate is brought to life with a little fizz.

Purchasers may enjoy it immediately or store it to soften and develop more completely over the next two years. alcohol, by volume, is 10.5 percent. USA suggested retail is $12.99/750ml bottle.

Emeri Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc– This wine is the color of straw with lovely green hues and its bouquer is redolent of gooseberry and grasses with tropical notes. On the palate, soft tropical fruits linger while persistent bubbles leave a clean, refreshing finish.

Select fruit from premium wine growing regions was harvested and gently pressed to retain varietal character and freshness. Alcohol by volume is 12.0 percent USA suggested retail is $12.99/750ml bottle.

Emeri Pink Moscata– Perhaps the most beautiful of the quartet, Emeri’s Pink Moscato is the perfect match for those holiday buffets featuring fresh fruits and seafood. This wine is cold fermented to retain its fresh fruit characteristics and promises a taste of ripe strawberries and musk. With a trend toward sweeter sparkling wines in the U.S., Emeri’s Pink Moscato already is a best seller. When it comes to a special occasion, there’s no better choice than this bright, luscious sparkling wine.

Emeri Moscato– With its bright golden appearance and fresh fruit aromas, Emeri Moscato is sure to be a hit at holiday celebrations. Its palate feel is velvety while the finish is much like warm bread with butter. The fruit comes from vines covered with canopies to allow natural fruit ripening. Moscato is medium sweet and light bodied, pairing nicely with fresh fruits of seafood, but certainly standing on its own. At just $12.99/750ml bottle, revelers will want to enjoy Emeri Moscato sooner rather than later and low alcohol content of just 8.0 percent makes this wine desirable among a wider audience.
