Beginning Friday, Nov. 26 the day after Thanksgiving Whole Foods Market shoppers can enjoy the great taste of Mama Green’s Gourmet Goodies four delicious cookie fl avors—Crunch Red Velvet, Chunky Oatmeal Peanut Butter Raisin, Chewy Carrot Spice, and Rich and Creamy German Chocolate, prepared using heirloom family recipes just in time for the holiday season. The cookies can be found in Whole Foods Market bakery area for $10.99.
Mama Green’s Gourmet Goodies are packaged in a beautiful handmade box that has been designed to be a replica of Mama Green’s own home. These gourmet goodies can be found at Whole Foods Market in Chicago located at the South Loop location–1101 S. Canal Street, Lincoln Park location–1550 N. Kingsbury Street, and at the Milwaukee store located at 2305 N. Prospect.
In 1954, Lue Helen Green aka Mama Green, spent her free time baking wonderful desserts. Throughout the years she perfected her recipes, and soon Mama Green shared her delicious desserts at family parties, church events, and throughout her hometown— Milwaukee. In time she passed the recipes down to other generations of bakers in her family.
Today, her great granddaughter— Shatoia Starks, brings those popular recipes to you as Mama Green’s Gourmet Goodies. From childhood Shatoia has fond memories of her great-grandmother’s house and the delicious aroma that came from Mama Green baking wonderful desserts. The family has always believed that “Nothing says lovin’ like goodies from Mama Green’s oven.”
