22nd Annual Walnut Street Picnic held

August 28, 2010

The 22nd Annual Walnut Street Picnic was held last weekend, where a gathering of several hundred participated in a day of remembering the ‘good old’ days of the neighborhood for those who grew up in the area, south of W. North Ave., bounded by N. 3rd and N. 12th streets. Old friends and neighbors travelled from as far away as Colorado, and Texas, and they always do, to attend this annual event. Juanita Hill, Betty Banks and Josie Robinson enjoyed the festivities this year and have also in past years. In addition to remembering the neighborhood the attendees also set out time to honor those that have passed since their last gathering. (Photo by Robert A. Bell)
