The fall of us

May 22, 2010

Part 1

By: Shone Bagley, Sr. – Ordained Minister / M.C.C.

Shone Bagley, Sr.

From the beginning to the very end of the Holy Bible, it does not conflict in any way. If it said something here one way, and it is different over there, then one can say your interpretation is wrong or you may not have full understanding. God’s word does not change and is and will always be true, from the beginning to the end.

With this – when lost souls come and confess Jesus is Lord, their sins are forgiven because Jesus being the lamb, according to scriptures, shed his blood and died for our sins. His resurrection allows us to believe that God had accepted Jesus as being our sacrifice for the remission of our sins. We then go on and walk within our lives with the belief that his/her soul is secure, meaning “I am saved.” We say this with confidence and without waiver.

We call ourselves children of God, as we should, however, in everything we do, is it perfect according to Jesus?

Matthew 5:48 ( KJV ) 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The true question is, are we really “perfect” as our Father is perfect? Keeping in mind that this is Jesus speaking to us, the “saved ones,” being the children of our Father in Heaven (Matt. 5:45). There are many of, so called Christian teachers and preachers saying, “No! No one can be perfect!” I say, if Jesus is telling us to be, then it is possible to be. Also, if Jesus is telling us to be, then there is a reason that we must be, perfect as our Father in Heaven.

So, now the question is, “What does it mean to be perfect?” The truth… starts off by you believing that you can be, as Jesus said we are to be, perfect. However, a “slavery” mentality type person tells all, “We cannot be perfect, for we all are sinners under the grace of God.”

First of all, was not Jesus’ blood perfect for us all who call on him? Secondly, the form that you have is the image of God, which was formed by God, and breathing into mankind making us all a living soul that comes all from a living God, who is perfect. What made us not perfect… was the disobedience of God’s words, or God’s commandments. Therefore, Jesus came and now we who call on Jesus, being saved from death, making a way for us to be perfect as Jesus states we are to be as it relates to our Father in Heaven. How? It is through the commandments of God.

Out of everything we do in church: memorize scriptures, sing, praise dance, hear the word from God through the anointed ones; when it comes to loving Jesus, or to prove to Jesus our love, Jesus states this:

John 14:15 ( KJV ) 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Again, Jesus making a statement that one can keep the commandments, if one chooses to!!! Also, making a statement of what it means as a follower of Jesus, the standard, and evidence of our truth behind loving Jesus.

What is it to say that most of us can call out a scripture that goes towards “me,” as if they are part of the 5 thousand who came to be healed, note how they all left him at the end (Matthew 14:14- 21). Do they call themselves followers of Jesus; or are they truly ones who have the knowledge of, faking being the true following and only seeking something for one’s self?

When it comes to the commandments of God, most of us can give the two greatest commandments: Matthew 22:37-40 ( KJV ) 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Still, fewer can even name off the Ten Commandments and even less know of the 613 commandments and laws of God (visit www.shonebagley.com for complete listing).

Instead, we walk around thinking God is pleased because we go to church and we do what we do. Did we forget that the commandments themselves come from God Himself, for us as an identifier as being reborn children of God? Have we turned from God and His word, making us all disobedient to Him; replacing our own desires of living – pimping God – instead of the life of doing God’s will?

The thought of this week for us who choose to know God, and to grow Spiritually: Are we a people of the five (5) thousand who knew of Jesus –or– are we true followers of Jesus?

As hard as it is for some of you to understand, our God is of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Are we sinning when we are not keeping the commandments? How can we keep them if we do not know of them? Are YOU seeking? Exodus 32:33-34 ( KJV ) 33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book. 34 Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.

Until next week… Love you my brothers and sisters
