Adrian Patrick, a.k.a. “The Jester”

Adrian Patrick, a.k.a. “The Jester” is the winner from Milwaukee in the North America Entertainment Group/ WJMR Jammin 98.3/ Gene’s Lanes & Lounge/Big Easy Comedy Festival Competition. Milwaukee was one of sixteen cities selected to host a local competition. A winner from each city will move on to compete at the Regional Comedy Showdown Finals in New Orleans, Louisiana.

To kick off the local competition, Jammin 98.3 instructed local comedians to log onto their website and sign up to compete. The competition was held at Gene’s Lanes & Lounge during the month of April. Every Wednesday Jammin 98.3 Air Personality Marlin Hill invited twelve comedians to the stage to perform before a crowd of 300 plus people and compete for the chance to win a spot at the Big Easy Comedy Festival National Competition.

On Wednesday, April 27, 2010 the top three finalists from each week, a total of nine contestants took to the stage at Gene’s Lanes & Lounge to battle for the grand prize. “The Jester” came out on top. He will receive an all expense paid trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, $500.00 spending money from Hupy & Abraham, S.C. and the chance to compete in the Regional Comedy Showdown Finals. He will be competing against comedians from fifteen other cities including Atlanta, GA, Cleveland, OH, Columbus, OH, Buffalo, NY, Indianapolis, IN and Washington, DC.

The Finals are being held May 27, 2010 at ClubNV in New Orleans, Louisiana. Three winners will be selected from the sixteen finalists. The three winners will be given one night each to perform on the Festival Main Stage of the Lakefront Arena appearing as the opening act for a host of nationally renowned comedians performing at the Big Easy Comedy Festival May 28th through May 30, 2010.

On Friday, May 28th the line-up includes Sommore, DL Hughley, Bruce Bruce, Don DC Curry and Gary Owens. Saturday, May 29th Arnez J, Earthquake, George Willborn, J. Anthony Brown and John Witherspoon will perform. Sunday, May 30th Mike Epps, Damon Wayans, Anthony Anderson, Jay Lamont and Pierre will be on the main stage.

When Attorney Hupy heard about the promotion, he got so excited about the city of New Orleans and the fabulous cuisine that he offered to give the winner $500.00 spending money. “Even though it’s an all expense paid trip, I want to make sure the winner from Milwaukee can go out and enjoy the city and the great food”, said Hupy.
