Honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King

Representing the Salvation Army of Wisconsin are Faithe Colas and Joy Alexander who were part of the planning committee for the 26th Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration held at the Marcus Center for the Arts. The Salvation Army has been diligent on its relief efforts for the nation of Haiti, and they sponsored a table informing event participants on the various services that they offer. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Justice Rally and March to King’s statue was held on Monday, Jan. 18, 2010-the national holiday. This event begins annually by St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1927 N. 4th St. The one hour commemorative program is followed by a 4 block march to the statue. (Photo by Robert A. Bell)
