Senator Lena C. Taylor (D Milwaukee) has appointed Christopher Gibbs as the new committee clerk for the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Corrections, Insurance, Campaign Finance Reform, and Housing.
“I am pleased to welcome Christopher to my staff and the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Corrections, Insurance, Campaign Finance Reform, and Housing,” Taylor commented. “The committee will make great use of Christopher’s organizational and legal knowledge over the remainder of this session. With much work to do, I look forward to Christopher’s contributions to the committee.”
Gibbs will be responsible for policy development and research for the Judiciary, Corrections, and Housing jurisdictional areas of the committee. In addition, Gibbs will serve as the primary staff for the committee’s representation on the Wisconsin Judicial Council and the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA).
Gibbs is a native of Brooklyn, NY. He is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School (May ‘09) and received a Master’s Degree in Health Policy & Administration from Yale University and completed undergraduate work at Cornell University. Gibbs interned in a variety of federal and state governments positions, including the chambers of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Acting committee clerk and Taylor’s Chief of Staff, Eric Peterson, continues as staff director for the committee and the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties.
