The State Farm Youth Advisory Board announced that PEARLS for Teen Girls will receive a $75,593 service-learning grant for Helping Hands in the Community, an Access to Higher Education/Closing the Achievement Gap service learning project.
PEARLS for Teen Girls is one of only 64 community organizations to receive a youth-led service-learning grant across the United States and Canada.
Ms. Danae Davis, PEARLS’ Chief Executive Officer said, “The State Farm Youth Advisory Board’s very generous grant is in keeping with our girl-focused mission while providing an opportunity for PEARLS girls to develop strong community service initiatives that are destined to positively impact youth in our Milwaukee Community. We couldn’t be more thrilled!”
The State Farm Youth Advisory Board has granted over $20.7 million in grant money since its inception in 2006, empowering youth to implement service-learning in 331 communities. Additionally, applications are available for interested, passionate youth aged 17-20 to become Youth Advisory Board members.
