The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Black Press Task Force hosted a reception at the NABJ’s national convention in Philadelphia. Special guest speakers were nationally syndicated columnist and CNN political analyst Roland Martin and Cloves Campbell, Chairman of the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA)-The Black Press of America.
Black Press Task Force cochairs, Nisa Muhammad, Senior Staff Writer with the Final Call, and Tene’ Croom, President of Tene’ Croom Communications, were pleased that Martin and Campbell addressed the reception sponsored by Rubenstein Associates, Inc.
Croom remarked, “I was particularly happy to see twenty-something print journalists there eager to hear the words of wisdom about the media from Roland and Cloves.”
The Task Force is committed to bridging the gap between the Black Press and Black journalists in mainstream media. NABJ is an organization of journalists, students and media-related professionals that provides quality programs and services to and advocates on behalf of Black journalists worldwide.
