Milwaukee’s favorite son returns home to deliver speech
The public is invited to attend this year’s King Day Celebration at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, 1531 W. Vliet Street on Monday, Jan. 18 with a program at 2:30 pm. The keynote speaker will be DeMarco Morgan, (formerly with WISN Channel 12 News) Anchor and Reporter for WNCB-TV New York.
This year’s King Day Celebration will feature dance, music and spoken word in a salute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In 1964, Martin Luther King became the youngest man in history to receive The Nobel Peace Prize. He was one of the first people in the Western world to lead a struggle for civil rights and equality without violence.
