Area residents got the chance to talk with employers who are seeking new workers at a Mini-Job Fair coordinated by an SDC program. People looking for work attended the event at the Social Development Commission (SDC) N. Richards building that featured businesses taking job applications.
The Mini Job Fair was the latest in a series of employment events put on by the W-2 Program of SDC. At this fair, employers were recruiting for home buyer and mortgage service reps, CDL drivers, construction laborers, general cleaners, food service positions, call center workers, and teachers. Hundreds of residents got the chance to talk with firms seeking staff and to fill out applications.
Among employers represented were LAO Trucking, Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America , Apple Bees, Pizza Hut, Clean Power, T.L. Reese, National Change Organization, Kindergarten Plus, and Wells Fargo. The next job fair being organized by SDC W-2 will be held in the third week of June at SDC’s facility at 4041 N. Richards Street.
