Director of Catering & Conventions Services recognized for community outreach efforts
Frances Goss
Frances Goss, director of catering & convention services at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee, has been honored with two minority leadership awards. Goss, who has played an integral role on the catering and sales team since 1995, was recently recognized at the second annual Midwest Urban Empowerment Awards hosted by Community Connections Network magazine on April 2. Awardees were honored for bolstering development and helping to improve quality of life issues in urban communities.
Award categories included: Education, Urban Development, Corporation, Philanthropic, Health, Youth, Financial, and cultural diversity leadership awards, which include Asian, American Indian, Latino and African American Leadership.
Goss was honored in the category of African American Leadership for her management leadership in Wisconsin’s hospitality industry, especially as it relates to successful event planning for companies, and member and community-based organizations.
“Frances has been an invaluable asset to our award-winning team,” said Gerald Rappaport, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee. “Her passion and commitment to Milwaukee have gained her the respect of many in the community. We applaud her in these prestigious recognitions.”
In addition to the Midwest Urban Empowerment Award, Goss was also honored at the Black Women’s Network “Women Who Build, Women Who Connect” awards ceremony on February 11. The distinction recognizes African American women who develop and strengthen personal, professional and business relationships among black women. The event also provides scholarships and support for young women entering college.
