For more than a decade, Hupy & Abraham , S.C. has provided holiday meals for families in need. This year the firm donated $6,000 for Thanksgiving meals and another $6,000 for Christmas meals to feed hungry families in the communities they serve. 100 families in the Milwaukee area received food baskets filled with a turkey or ham and all the ingredients to prepare a delicious Thanksgiving meal. Another 100 families received the food baskets for Christmas. The 13th annual holiday food giveaway events were held at the Pick n’ Save Food Store, 2255 N. 35th Street.
Additionally, the law firm donates to food banks in other cites were they have offices. Their donation fed approximately 2500 people this year. “It is clear to me that a lot of people out there are struggling to put food on the table, we are proud to be able to continue this law firm’s tradition of giving back to the communities we serve”, said Attorney Chad Kreblin.
Tiaysha Bradshaw, this year’s organizer of the food basket giveaway moves a family tradition forward. She is continuing a program originally started by her deceased grandmother 13 years ago and carried on by her mom the late Patsy’s Bradshaw until last year. Tiaysha is the 3rd generation to take over as program organizer.
Each year the program organizer contacts local schools, churches, community organizations and social workers to identify families in need. On the day of the event, Tiaysha, family and friends all gather at the Pick n’ Save to assist with the food giveaway. “The Bradshaw family has been very instrumental in helping us to keep this program alive. The work they do is greatly appreciated”, said Attorney Kreblin.
