It’s an out-of-the-ordinary event that combines gourmet dining with several rounds of boxing in a glittery casino venue.
That’s the Zoological Society of Milwaukee’s (ZSM’s) standout fundraiser Puttin’ on the Ritz, sponsored by Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek.
Now in its 19th year, this elegant black-tie evening is held at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino in downtown Milwaukee.
Guests will enjoy fine dining, amateur boxing bouts arranged by the Future Olympian Boxing Association, premium cigars provided by Lake Country Cigars, dazzling drinks, and a lively voice auction. Kaizad Hansotia, owner and creator of the internationally recognized Gurkha cigar brand, will be a special guest.
“Puttin’ on the Ritz is a great way to support the Zoological Society while enjoying an evening of premium cigars, spirits, a top-notch meal and exciting boxing,” says Robert M. Davis, CEO of the nonprofit ZSM. Among the 400 expected guests will be a Milwaukee-area group of female cigar aficionados.

When: Jan. 23, 2014. Cocktails at 6 p.m.; voice auction and dinner at 7:30 p.m.; boxing at 8:30 p.m.

Cost: Cost is $200 per person or $1,600 per table of eight and $2,000 for a corporate sponsorship table of eight (includes 5.6% WI sales tax; $80 is tax-deductible).
Other details: The evening raises money for the Zoological Society and its support of the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Last year’s event raised $120,975.
